Scientists have tried to establish how acupressure brings about its positive effects on health and healing. However, until today, no universally accepted explanation has been found.

Some scientists believe that a relation exists between the pressure points and the nervous and circulatory systems along which most of the points are being found. Regardless, the fact of the matter is, that Shiatsu and Reha Shiatsu treatments mobilize the body's self-healing powers and improve its resistance.
